Drive times are approximate and exclude sightseeing unless stated. Traffic, road conditions and breaks affect timings. Activities and properties remain subject to confirmation. An airport-area arrival night is included without increasing the advertised duration. Early-arrival guests may request a direct first transfer, with the released night reallocated after a personal route review. Pinnawala is an optional Colombo–Kandy corridor stop, not automatically included in this northbound route.
Day 1 · Overnight: Airport area
Airport arrival, a short private transfer and rest after your flight.
Airport → arrival-area stay: approximately 20–60 minutes

Day 2 · Overnight: Sigiriya
Transfer north with breaks; optional Dambulla only if arrival and energy allow.
Airport area → Sigiriya: approximately 4–5 hours, excluding visits

Day 3 · Overnight: Sigiriya
Early Sigiriya ascent if suitable, followed by a quiet afternoon.
Local transfers: approximately 30–60 minutes

Day 4 · Overnight: Kandy
Travel to Kandy and consider the Temple of the Tooth after settling in.
Sigiriya → Kandy: approximately 3–4 hours, excluding visits

Day 5 · Overnight: Ella
A scenic highland drive with breaks; an optional rail segment requires confirmed tickets and a revised timetable.
Kandy → Ella: approximately 5–7 hours by road, with sightseeing additional

Day 6 · Overnight: Ella
A full Ella day: choose a manageable walk or tea-country visit, with time at leisure.
Local transfers: approximately 1–2 hours total

Day 7 · Overnight: Yala region
Descend to the Yala region and rest. A safari is proposed for the following morning, not added to this transfer day.

Day 8 · Overnight: Galle coast
Optional early safari, then travel to the Galle coast. This is a full day; skip the safari or add a night if a slower pace is preferred.

A Galle Fort walk and time by the coast.
